The WCB reminds workplaces about First Aid Regulation changes

The Workers Compensation Board (WCB) reminds all Island workplaces that changes to Prince Edward Island’s First Aid Regulations will come into effect on January 31, 2013.

The amendments to Section 9 of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulations recognize that first aid requirements should reflect the various hazard levels in different types of workplaces. They also put additional measures in place to anticipate the first aid needs of workers and employers across the Island.

Highlights of the amendments are listed in the OHS Act & Regulations section of the WCB website and include changes related to first aid kits, providers, rooms and records.

“We encourage anyone with questions about these changes, or any other occupational health and safety issue, to contact our office,” said Bill Reid, Director of Occupational Health and Safety with the Workers Compensation Board. “We are here to work with Islanders to keep each other safe and to make safety a priority in every workplace.”

The WCB welcomes Tareq Hadhad to its 2024 Workplace Health and Safety Conference

The Workers Compensation Board’s (WCB) annual Workplace Health and Safety Conference welcomes Tareq Hadhad as the event’s keynote speaker. The conference takes place on May 9, 2024, at the Delta Hotel Prince Edward, in Charlottetown. “We are very pleased to welcome Mr. Hadhad, founder and CEO of Peace by Chocolate, to this year’s conference,” said Dan Campbell, CEO of the WCB. “Tareq is an engaging speaker and a passionate entrepreneur who has a unique life journey to share, from Syrian refugee to successful business owner based out of Nova Scotia to inspiring international speaker.
