Workers Compensation Board of Prince Edward Island

Young Islanders can win in the It’s Your Job video contest

March 13, 2013

The Workers Compensation Board reminds Island youth that there are three weeks left to enter the “It’s Your Job…Workplace Rights, Camera, Action!” video contest. The contest engages high school students, as well as 18 - 24 year old youth, in their workplace rights and responsibilities and offers a chance to win cash prizes in the process.

Young Islanders are asked to create a two-minute original video that demonstrates the importance of workplace safety or employment standards. Contest entries will be accepted until April 5, 2013.

Winning videos will be posted on the “It’s Your Job” YouTube site, with contestants from across the country competing for national and Fan Favourite prizes in May 2013.

For more information, including tips, rules and contest entry forms, visit the Workers Compensation Board website, www.wcb.pe.ca/workplace/contest

The contest is part of a national initiative of Labour Ministers from across Canada to promote safety and rights for young workers. On Prince Edward Island, the contest is sponsored by the Department of Environment, Labour, and Justice in partnership with the Workers Compensation Board.
