UPDATE - Workplace First Aid Regulations
February 17, 2026
Updated Workplace First Aid Regulations came into effect in PEI one year ago. As a result, some existing first aid certificates may no longer meet current requirements.
In the Regulations “low risk work” is defined as work of an administrative, professional or clerical nature that does not require substantial physical exertion or exposure to work processes, substances or other conditions that are potentially hazardous.
Unless your workplace fits in that category, your designated workplace first aiders MUST hold the two-day Intermediate First Aid Training, formerly called Standard First Aid, or a higher level of certification.
