Protect your Hearing
Noise is a common but very serious hazard in many workplaces. Exposure to too much noise at work, even for a short period of time, can lead to permanent hearing loss.     Employers with workers exposed to hazardous noise levels are required to develop a hearing conservation program. This program involves educating workers on noise hazards and how to control them, providing details on personal protective equipment (PPE) and highlighting the importance of annual hearing tests for workers.      Learn more about preventing occupational hearing loss and developing a hearing conservation program.    ?

Five Guiding Principles
What guides every decision we make?   At the WCB, it starts with our five guiding principles. They shape how we support workers, employers and each other every day.    Integrity - We are fair and transparent, and take responsibility for our actions and performance.    Compassion - We value the diverse needs and perspectives of individuals, and treat people with respect and empathy.    Excellence - We demonstrate high standards and empower our people to innovate and continuously do things better.    Collaboration - We work with each other and our stakeholders to achieve our mission, while balancing worker and employer interests.    Accountability - We are stewards of PEI’s workplace safety and compensation system and its entrusted resources.   These five principles are at the heart of everything we do. They guide us each day as we work to support safe and healthy workplaces across the Island.
